My clutch went at 52k miles. It was replaced by previous owner at 15k miles. VW mechanic said that he had never seen this issue before. I have 60% of the clutch pads left but gear connecting to trans is stripped. VW will not warranty this. Will never buy vw again.

I own a 2010 Jetta TDI. The dealer I take the car for service to told me that while Volkswagen recommends an oil change every 10,000 miles they recommend every 5,000. I am hearing that every 10,000 miles is more than adequate. Am I being scammed?
