Issues with 2021 Jetta 6 speed manuel

Burns 1qt of oil every 1,500 miles. I wonder if EPA knows about this, new vehicles are supposed to burn cleaner, not add to air pollution. 2nd I had to replace rear brakes at 30,000 miles do to the HILL ASSIST feature on new manuel transmissions. Dealership refuses to do anything, stating that both issues fall within VW specs. Ive owned 4 new Jettas throughout my life, but because of this VW has lost a life long customer.

Extreme Dissatisfaction with Dangerous Service VW World of Newton

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and deep concern over safety standards at this dealership. If the service team here can make this type of mistake, then I am exceptionally disappointed in Volkswagen's commitment to quality.

During a standard 30k mile service, my brake fluid was flushed.

It was not, however, refilled!!!

I was charged for the full service and was allowed to leave the lot. Later that day I discovered that I had no brakes, after having driven my two children in the vehicle, to several locations, on major roadways. Upon returning home there was zero brake fluid in the system and the brakes failed completely. I count myself incredibly lucky, as the dealership's negligent oversight of a highly critical part of the service put me and my family in EXTREME DANGER.

This is completely unacceptable.

Additionally, while oil change is part of the standard 30k mile service, my car still had the old windshield sticker from my last oil change service at a different location when the vehicle was done. I can't be confident that the work was even done, and there's really no way to know. Even if it was just a lack of attention to detail, it was quite unprofessional.

Coupled with a total lack of accountability, absolutely terrible communication and prioritization of rectifying a potential life-threatening error, in addition to being overcharged for labor and services and not getting back vehicle back for five days, this has led me to lose all confidence in this dealership's competency and business ethics.

This is not the first issue I have had with poor workmanship and customer service at this dealership, but it will be the last.

As a long-time Volkswagen customer, this level of professionalism and service is disheartening. I cannot overstate my dissatisfaction.

User's recommendation: Be very diligent with every step of the service process here. Insist on seeing ALL costs in writing before signing a service agreement. Then insist on a thorough walk-around and verification that all services were performed to standard. My experience is that the service team here cuts corners, some very dangerous and will overbill for

CBFA Engine inake manifold extended warranty

Volkswagen Of America - CBFA Engine inake manifold extended warranty
Volkswagen Of America - CBFA Engine inake manifold extended warranty - Image 2

This is in reference to the following "bulletin" from VW of America:

"Warranty Information Number: VWP-15-04 Subject: Intake Manifold Limited Warranty Extension Date: Jan. 13, 2015

(US Dealers)

This document modifies the Volkswagen Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual."

"Intake Manifold Limited Warranty Extension

Volkswagen has extended the Emissions Control Systems Warranty for the intake manifold under specific conditions to 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicles original in-service date, for certain 2008 **** Model Year Volkswagen 2.0 TFSI Engine vehicles with engine codes CBFA and CCTA.

Certain states have voluntarily adopted California-mandated emissions warranties only for vehicles equipped to meet Californias Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) emissions requirements.

These vehicles can be identified by inspecting the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label located under the hood. Because of this, the owner of a vehicle equipped to meet Californias PZEV emissions requirements living in one of these states may have warranty rights that exceed the extended warranty offering described in this bulletin. Owners should refer to the warranty information that came with their vehicle for additional details as to whether or not this applies to their vehicle.

The vehicles original in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a demonstrator or company car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service.

This warranty extension is fully transferable to subsequent owners."

My complaint: I own a 2012 VW Jetta GLI with the original 2.0 TSI "CBFA" engine code. On 3/17/21, with 64,243 miles on the odometer, my car was diagnosed with the P2015 engine fault code by Mike Maroone VW in Colorado Springs, CO.

Maroone VW confirmed this code was caused by the known faulty intake manifold. Maroone VW replaced said faulty intake subject to VW's extended warranty.

Unfortunately, after just 11,335 miles, Maroone VW confirmed another P2015 fault code (after charging me $187 for diagnosis), and provided me with an estimated $1,765.95 for replacement of the same manifold initially replaced under extended warranty.

Since Colorado is Among the states which have "voluntarily adopted California-mandated emissions warranties only for vehicles equipped to meet Californias Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) emissions requirements [and] Because of this, the owner of a vehicle equipped to meet Californias PZEV emissions requirements living in one of these states may have warranty rights that exceed the extended warranty offering described in this bulletin," VWP-15-04

I ask that VW of America re-replace their faulty intake manifold pursuant to the terms of their Warranty Extension covering a part known by them to be flawed.

Sincerely,

Steven Silz-Carson

Not if this gouging continues

Original review Mar 11, 2024
The service department at Sheehy VW, Springfield is kinda shady! I went here 3/4/24 to find out why my 2021 R-LINE Atlas cross sport suddenly had an oil leak.

Turns out I somehow cracked my oil pan. I was hit over the head with an estimate of $2100.00, Ouch! I went ahead an authorized the repair only to find out while waiting, I was able to go online and find the same part they were charging me $1100 for $480. To say this is excessive is an understatement.

When my car was ready, I checked the invoice before paying to make sure it was indeed the same part # I had found and it was. It was at that point I brought this to the attention of my service advisor. Although they did not reduce my cost to the $480, which were on sites like MYVWPART.COM, Volkswagen -- World VW Parts and vwdirectautoparts.com, they did reduce the cost of the pan to $721, a dealer price I found on VW Parts and Accessories Online Store. That price as of today is now $540, 181 dollar less than yesterday.

Needless to say, Why should I have to research myself to get a fair deal? We all know most dealers charge more, however I never wanted to believe they gouge us to this extent. My bill went from $2100 to $1750. but that's still too much, considering the parts they used did not cost anywhere near that.

They charged me an additional $236 for (25) bolts(9.44 a piece), Those bolts are $3.44 a piece online. In total, I still paid approx. $300 more than I should have if you add up the $181 for the pan and 150 more for bolts that I should not have paid. I guess I should be satified with the little win going from 2100 to 1750, but I'm not.

I wonder, how many other people got gouged yesterday the day before, last week last month, this year! Makes you wonder. This is most likely my last trip here. Not just for service, purchase also.

I paid cash to these folks 3 years ago for my car. Sad day!
After writing a review on yelp, I mentioned it was Ironic they only respond to good comments on the Google review site.

Someone in Management did asked for my contact info from the yelp site to discuss my concerns. But as of 3/11 I have not heard from anyone.

Miss representation and possible false advertisement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I recently purchased a 2024 Atlas Cross Sport from Alexandria Volkswagen. The car was a one owned lease and was listed as "Certified" The day I purchased the car there was a warning light on and the salesman said it was from the air pressure being low.

He filled the tire with air and said once you start driving the light will come off. Which is understandable so i believed him and drove off. After about 15 min the light still was on amd then after further investigation i was able to find an error message saying "Dynamic cornering light error" i immediately called the dealership back the next day. Yhe sales person said he would walk over to service and have someone call me back.

This never happened. I had to call back several times before i spoke with someone in service. He tells me to bring the car in. Once i get there they do a diagnostic and said they had to do a system update.

They did that and the light came off but the light came back on the very next day. I called the service dept. And explained the situation and they said to bring it back in and I did that and then was told the tec forgot to do aome type of upgrade. I asked how could that be if that was the sole purpose of the visit but they did this "upgrade" that was missed and the light came off and then the VERY NEXT DAY the light came back on.

Now i am agitated and told the service guy that i am not going to keep coming back and forth to fix this and you guys are not doing anything to fix the problem. I told him i would be coming back on Saturday 03/02/24 and they need to game plan on what ELSE they need to do to fix the problem (preferably to.change the entire light) My wife goes there and has to wait because they continue to.say they dont have any loaner cars available and then they come out and tell her she has to bring the car back for a FOURTH TIME because they need more time. I have had it up to here with there incompetence. We are getting the run around and now i have my lawer looking into litigation.

The forst step he told me to.do is email Volkswagen USA and get a correspondence back (in writing) so we do not have any miss understandings. My ophective is clear at this point. I need somone to respond back to me immediately explaining how did I get a CERTIFIED car that had a light on the day i brought the car (to me that means the car WAS NOT certified and that is false advertisement and i dont feel safe in the car because i dont have confidence in that dealership) also i am looking for spme type of atonement for all this wasted time and $ (i had to take several ubers back and forth to the dealership because they would not give me a loaner and i had to get to work. One uber i had to take from Virginia to Maryland where i stay.

And that was costly.

I look to her back from someone form corporate office soon. Please respond to

Alert customers

Volkswagen Of America - Alert customers

Volkswagen of America and Dealers must inform the customers that they must spend about 15 bottles of oil per year, about $120 dollars per year adding oil to the car every 1,200 miles, which for engineers and all CEOs of the company is normal.

My name is Andrea Grieco. I have a lease since June 25, 2022, on a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport from Rick Case Volkswagen of Weston, 3520 Weston Rd, Weston FL 33331, current General Manager Karim Kassim.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport currently has 20,300 miles. The VW Atlas CS described above has had a problem that I have been dealing with for several months. After 8000 miles the oil light started to come on and I took it to the Service. The first two times the service person told us that it was normal because it was new but that if it happened again, it would be a problem.

Indeed, every 3000 miles the oil began to drain and there was no leak. It was lowered by more than a quarter, which is a considerable amount for being a new car. The Service Manager, Walter Chavez, told us that this was a factory problem that several VW Atlas have, that there was no fix, that we had to take charge of refilling the oil every 3000 miles because they were not going to do it. We spoke with the General Sales Manager, Daniel Florez, who assisted us and he told us that that was not correct.

I filed a claim with the VW Headquarter and after giving the car 2 consumption tests, they said that this was normal, that every 1,200 miles the oil can drop more than 1 quarter and that I should replace it.

If this is "normal" for them then they should warn the consumers before buying the vehicle that every 1,200 miles you have to add oil as if it were an old car.

If it was always "normal" for them, then why did they initially take my claim?

Why did they remove Service Manager Walter Chavez from his position exactly the day after my complaint? Why did Tiffany Kohler, the Service Advisor, tell me that my car's oil consumption was not normal and could not be normal?

Why did the General Sales Manager, Daniel Florez, also tell me that it was not normal and could not be ..., and now it turns out that it is normal? Why didn't they tell me that it was normal from the beginning?

Volkswagen of America and Dealers must inform the customers that they must spend about 15 bottles of oil per year, about $120 dollars per year adding oil to the car every 1,200 miles, which for engineers and all CEOs of the company is normal.

Request for reimbursement of service at Napleton Volkswagon of Orlando

On Friday February 23rd 2024 I took my car to Napleton Volkswagon of Orlando for a recall. Since I was already at the dealership I decided to ask for a diagnostic as I had some dashboard lights on (ABS, Brake and traction control) After the diagnostic was performed I received a text and a PDF document stating my car had faulty wheel speed sensors.

They also recommended I do a brake flush and I had advised that my start/stop button wasn't working properly either. There were a few other items they recommend but I decided to do the wheel speed sensors ($832.60), brake flush ($139.99) and the start/stop button repair ($725.95). These were the prices that were given to me that I approved and have documentation on. Total with the $210.00 diagnostic fee was $1908.54 before taxes.

They told me the car would be done in an hour and a half so I left to get lunch. I get a text from Ty (service advisor) stating the button won't be there until Saturday morning 2/24/2024 so I had to leave the car. Inconvenient but I was happy that my car was getting fixed. Fast forward to Saturday morning where I get a text from Ty and another PDF document stating that it wasn't the wheel speed sensors after all but the ABS module.

That would cost another $4,855.83. The whole reason I trusted Volkswagon is because unlike other car mechanics, they should have the top of the line diagnostic equipment to properly diagnose a vehicle. I find it hard to believe that the machine did not pick up the faulty ABS module initially. Then all of a sudden the prices for what was done increased.

Wheel Speed sensors went up to $1,052.60, brake flush went up to $146.41 and the start stop button increased to $737.95. That is not what I approved. I paid for the wheel speed sensors to be replaced when they didn't need to be due to their misdiagnosis and I would like my money back.

I was misled and taken advantage of. I would like to have someone from corporate contact me to further discuss.

Urgent Assistance Required: Recurring Turbo Issue and Unresolved Customer Service Concerns

I'm reaching out to express my disappointment and concern regarding a series of customer service challenges and a significant issue with my vehicle that remains unresolved.

Over the past few weeks, I have made multiple attempts to seek assistance and clarity on a recurring issue with my car's turbo, which was initially repaired by your team two years ago for over $5,000. Despite the hefty expense and the assurance of a warranty, I find myself facing the exact same problem just after the warranty's expiration in October.

I brought my car in again in December, only to be informed that I need to replace the turbo once more. This pattern is both alarming and financially burdensome, especially considering my position as a hardworking single father with tight financial constraints. This vehicle is not just a car to me; it is my lifeline, enabling me to fulfill my responsibilities to my disabled mother and my son.

I have spoken with Emily on several occasions, who assured me that Sal would return my call to address my concerns. Unfortunately, despite her assurances and my repeated attempts to escalate this matter by speaking with a manager, three weeks have elapsed without any form of response from your team.

It's difficult for me to understand how a turbo could fail every two years, especially coinciding so closely with the warranty's expiration.

This situation leaves me feeling taken advantage of and puts me in a challenging position, as I cannot afford the luxury of replacing turbos at such an interval. This car is essential for my daily responsibilities, including commuting to work, attending medical appointments for my mother, and transporting my son to school.

I am earnestly requesting your advice on how to proceed under these circumstances.

I believe in the quality and integrity of Volkswagen, and I am hopeful that we can find a resolution that does not compromise the well-being of my family or impose unreasonable financial burdens.

Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. I am looking forward to your prompt and constructive response.

DISAPPOINTING VEHICLE/SERVICE/COMMUNICATION

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

on January 5th, my husband brought our VW Passat in to your Service Department because the check engine light went on, AGAIN. Our car is still at your Service Department, FOUR weeks this Friday.

As I understand, they are waiting for parts of which this is the second time this extensive work had to be completed on our VW which is only four years old. Our Passat is the first vehicle we have purchased in over twenty years as we have always leased. We had decided as we are getting older it would be beneficial to now purchase a reliable, dependable vehicle, worry free that we would have for many years. This is one of the biggest MISTAKES we have ever made.

Since we have had this Passat, it has been in for service more times than we care to count. From the complete engine repair (twice), to tire issues, to continuously having to add oil--I can go on and on. We havent even mentioned the issue with the heater vs. the defroster.

During this present timeframe, we were finally given a Jetta loaner after paying almost $1,000 for a rental car while you were repairing our car. We again called yesterday to see the status of our Passat only to be told they are still waiting on the parts. We asked if we could have something larger than the Jetta as a loaner and told nothing was available!! I am handicapped with a wheelchair and travel daily to work at a hospital.

Do you know how difficult it is to manipulate that chair into the small Jetta? And to make matters worse with this frigid weather, this Jetta does not have an automatic start (as our VW has) and when you are idling in Park due to traffic, the engine cuts out and therefore so does the heater and defrosters. I do not know what made us think VWs were so reliabledriving pleasure??? Ideally, we would extremely appreciate if our Jetta would be repaired and returned before the weekend or if you would be kind enough to provide a bit larger vehicle for us to use that can accommodate my wheelchair.

Aside from all of the above, it is so difficult to get in touch with the Service Department--unavailable and continuously have to follow up with them!!! VW never again!!.

They have agreed to do nothing. They are content with offering bad service and poor interpretations of their own inspections to squeeze more money out of consumers.

Original review Aug 19, 2023
I have tried several avenues short of small claims court to try and get the antelope valley Volkswagen dealership to admit they made a mistake during their inspection of our Atlas second row driver side seatbelt. I have several pictures showing exactly where the belt is getting snagged and they refuse to cover it.

I had to get my seatbelt replaced by a non affiliated auto mechanic due to it being half the quoted price (1000 vs 560 roughly) and that mechanic thought it also looked like mechanic failure. I don't believe the VW dealership even took the panels off to inspect the seatbelt in question, to see if it was a mechanical or product defect before placing their unquestioning verdict. I have bumper to bumper warranty and never placed any claim for over 1.5 years while this one particular defect was left unnoticed by me. I think it is pretty crazy and unplausable to suggest that I damaged the seatbelt myself, behind the interior panel, that lines up perfectly with the retracting belt housing support bar, and am trying to scam a dealership for a warranty claim that I purchased for thousands of extra dollars.

I am an active duty military member with a wife and 2 kids (who have to sit in the seat) and I bought this warranty extra so I wouldn't have to deal with crap like this.

I believe this dealership is acting unethically and was also wrong. Please respond, this whole thing is quite ridiculous.

I have been a customer for over 13 years of Volkswagen. Have leased cars all these years.

I go to sell my 2011 Golf and come to find out the lien by VW is STILL on the title. I am furious. I call VW Credit and it sounds like some crackhead on the other end of the line. I'm on the phone with him for half an hour and the rep wasn't even able to give me a confirmation number or an email that the problem is being worked on.

I was supposed to sell the car to Carvana with a very substantial offer, and now my offer expired because VW could not get the paperwork to me that I needed. They tell me I must wait 15 days for the lien release to get mailed to me. I clearly read online from DMV that it's 3 days after payoff. I read dozens of complaints online about other customers with this same dilemma.

I currently lease a VW, but this will be my last. I'm done with VW.

Remember that the salesperson and manager discriminated from both just because the woman the salesperson tried to sell the car I had an appointment.

Disappointing. I got a new car with a warranty so this type of issue would get resolved quickly, but Volkswagen is dragging it out. They say that they will honor my warranty, but so far they have not done so.

Repurchase of Your 2021 VW ID.4 - WVGGNPE28MP064363 - Case #0568****
I am having trouble with the SECOND ID.4 that I purchased, a 2023 model:
VIN# 1V2JNPE85PC040028
My driver's seat does not function properly. It never has.

The pre-sets don't work.

I have tried to get it repaired under warranty, but I am told that Volkswagen of America will not cover the work under my warranty! am incredulous.
Please help me figure out what is going on and please help me get the work done, ASAP.
I purchased this car with some hesitation, given the previous lemon I was stuck with.
Now, I am frustrated that a simple seat problem cannot be repaired under warranty.
I am trying to stick with the VW brand, but I am pretty disappointed, again.
